Devo Tackles Politics and Animal Rights with New Song about Mitt Romney's Dog

With the political season in full swing, most musical artists are beginning to take sides--but Devo is joining in from an interesting angle, throwing in some animal activism alongside their political statement.

On August 25, Devo is scheduled to release a new track titled "Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro! (Remember Seamus)," a song about Mitt Romney's family dog, Seamus, that Romney transported on vacation in a kennel strapped to the roof of his station wagon back in June 1983.

According to the Remember Seamus Campaign, launched by Devo founder and commercial director Gerald V. Casale, the Romney family embarked on the 12-hour, 650-mile trip from Belmont, Mass., to Beach O'Pines, Ontario, with Seamus in his "roof-top carrier." Halfway through the trip, he suffered from diarrhea--which the family only noticed as it began to leak down the car windows.
