14 Weeks

by John Domenic

They speak of an earth and a sun so bright

Three months and a half have all come and passed

Now finally I get to see the light

Just darkness surrounds, a near constant night

Through screams I can hear masters talk and laugh

They speak of an earth and a sun so bright

The layers cry over the broilers' fright

But morning has come, and their time will pass

Now finally I get to see the light

A maiden gives whines from the walls, so tight

She's calmed by the thoughts that may give a chance

They speak of an earth and a sun so bright

Clear yellow beams hit the one wall in sight

My masters come forth; I can barely stand

Now finally I get to see the light

Oh mom and oh dad, we'll be near, tonight

Those words were correct to describe this land

They speak of an earth and a sun so bright

Now finally I get to see the light
