If presidential campaigns
prove anything, it's that meat-eating is as much a staple of candidate
photo-ops as, say, kissing babies or singing "The Star-Spangled Banner."
Elizabeth Kucinich would like to change that. As the director of
government affairs for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine
-- and, yes, the wife of Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) -- she's out to push
Washington to get over meat. (She's even delivering a keynote address on
Saturday at PCRM's Kickstart event on how to be a vegan while still in
the public eye.)
