Occupy Portland spread out for gatherings and demonstrations Friday in downtown Portland, starting with holiday shopping and anti-fur marches in the morning and ending with the tree-lighting ceremony in the evening.

About 150 protesters and animal rights activists gathered outside Nordstrom, then marched past department stores and high-end retailers to promote Fur-Free Friday. Meanwhile, carolers sang anti-shopping lyrics to Christmas tunes across the street at Pioneer Courthouse Square.
