DEAR FRIENDS,
On September 30, 2012, SHARK documented one of the most vicious and
cruel pigeon shoots that has ever been captured on film. This shoot,
which took place at the Wing Pointe canned hunt club, resulted in the
merciless slaughter of hundreds of birds. It was after the main part of
the shoot was over however, that a young shooter proceeded to torture
wounded birds in the most vile

ways.
We didn't know who he was back then, but we do now - meet Ryan
Haas. This picture comes from a special section of the
Reading
Eagle published January 1, 2013. These were photographs taken at
"Artistic Visions Wildlife Studios," a rather phony sounding name for a
taxidermy business that appears to cater to rich hunters who enjoy
slaughtering exotic animals. Ryan is the taxidermist's apprentice. We
were shocked even further when we found his Facebook page. Not only does
Haas enjoy torturing animals, but he posted a sickening racist rant
against President Obama as well as a statement on "white power." Haas
also had one post were he appeared to fantasize about killing his own
family. The American Psychiatric Association and the FBI have proven a
link between those that torture and kill animals and those that kill
humans. Wanting to take no chances, we sent a letter to the Commissioner
of the Pennsylvania State police about Haas (see below).

Please contact Berks County District Attorney John Adams and
politely tell him that Ryan Haas must be prosecuted for his horrific
acts of animal cruelty. Remind DA Adams that he said
in this article, that he would prosecute people who torture
animals as Haas did.

Shortly after this video was posted, Ryan's Facebook page
appears to have been deleted.

Letter to PA State Police Regarding Ryan Haas
Frank
Noonan
Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police
Dear Commissioner Noonan,
I have written to you in
the past regarding the dangerous and violent actions taken by
participants of live pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania,
specifically, what has happened at the Wing Pointe commercial
hunting ground in Berks County, PA. Sadly, your office and the
State Police have taken no action.
This past October, we
invited you to attend a press conference we held in Harrisburg
to view what were some of the most horrific and cruel acts ever
committed at a pigeon shoot. No one from your office attended
and you seemed to care not at all. If you had shown, you would
have witnessed one young man, dressed in black, who tortured
pigeons in the most vile and disgusting way. You can watch some
of what happened in
this video link.
Is it unreasonable to think that,
because the man in black laughed while he tore those birds
apart, that he might have some form mental illness that needed
to be addressed? We felt at the time that this person and his
accomplices potentially posed a threat to people. Again, and
unfortunately, no one from the State Police cared enough to even
try to find out who this person was or to charge him for
violating Pennsylvania's anti-cruelty statute.
Thanks to
a recent newspaper article, we know now who he is. His name is
Ryan Haas, and according to his Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/ryan.haas.5 he lives in
Fleetwood, Pennsylvania.
What we found when we viewed
his public Facebook page shocked us; Mr. Haas not only posted
vile racist comments, but he wrote this extremely disturbing
post, where he appears to fantasize about killing his family:

As you can see in the video, Haas has access to weapons and knows
how to use them. From his demeanor during his pigeon torture
(laughing, smiling), we believe he enjoyed killing those animals in
the most vicious way. Now we see that he has fantasized about
killing his own family. With all these factors, and with the recent
tragedy in Newton still in our minds, we felt it our duty to make
sure that you were aware of this situation.
Commissioner
Noonan, you've ignored the violence and threat to human safety that
pigeon shooters represent before. We hope that you will not ignore
these blatant signs again.
Sincerely,
Steve Hindi
PS: Here is one of his racist posts. I can send you
more if you want, or you can view them for yourself on his Facebook
page.
