WEST NEW YORK - A group of animal rights demonstrators showed their disdain for slaughterhouses yesterday by protesting outside a live poultry market on Bergenline Avenue in West New York. Protesters from the Friends of Animals United NJ passed out literature, held signs, and even showed a video outside Marzigliano's Live Market, at 5233 Bergenline Ave. "We think it is much more symbolically powerful to be in front of a place where the animals are being killed," said one of the group's organizers, 37-year-old Anthony Botti. --
