Animal-rights volunteer arrested for videotaping Jordan Valley rodeo

JORDAN VALLEY -- An animal-rights activist was arrested over the weekend at the Jordan Valley Big Loop Rodeo for videotaping the rodeo.

Adam Fahnestock, 30, of Washington state, was arrested around 2 p.m. Saturday at the Jordan Valley Rodeo Grounds and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to Malheur County Undersheriff Travis Johnson.

Fahnestock is a volunteer with an animal-rights group, Showing Animals Respect and Kindness, or SHARK, based out of Geneva, Ill., according to Steve Hindi, president of the group.
