The Australian Vegetarian Society says images of animal cruelty have
forced people to seek alternatives to factory farmed meat.

Last month, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Lateline program
broadcast footage that showed a steer being slaughtered without first
being stunned.

The Australian government imposed a temporary ban on live exports to
Indonesia last year, after similar images were shown on Four Corners.
