On 18th October 2005, Simon Upton, Master of the Essex Foxhounds will be appearing at Basildon Magistrates Court in relation to an alleged attack on hunt saboteurs on 9th February at Kelvedon Hatch near Brentwood

Just days prior to the case, witnesses have been told that Mr Upton has changed his plea to GUILTY.

Pivotal to the case was VIDEO EVIDENCE of assaults on saboteurs and damage to their property.

A member of North and East London Hunt Saboteurs will be at the hearing and will be able to supply copies of the video footage central to the case.

Media contacts wishing to obtain copes need to contact HSA Press Officer Nathan Brown on 07815 313181 to confirm demand and ensure that we have the correct format available.

Nathan Brown, speaking on behalf of the Hunt Saboteurs Association said "The first hunting related conviction this season is a huntsman. We feel this illustrates perfectly that hunting people are violent thugs and bullies.

Video evidence has proved to be one of our most valuable tools. We will also be providing evidence this season so that the courts can sentence huntsman for breaking the new Hunting Act."
