Florida ARA to be tried on Michigan charges

[Gainesville Sun]

An animal rights activist being investigated for threats against a University of Florida researcher has been jailed in Michigan in a similar case there.

A judge in Detroit on Friday ordered Camille Marino to stand trial on allegations of stalking a Wayne State University researcher and sent her to jail for violating bond, the Detroit News reported. The judge ruled that Marino, 48, of Wildwood hadn't complied with a court order barring her from posting online about the researcher.

Marino is accused of posting the researcher's home address and threatening statements about him on social media sites and the website of the animal rights group that she founded, Negotiation is Over.
