November 26, 2008 -- Tens of Thousands of Salmon Released

On the night of 21 November more than 100,000 salmon were liberated from two fish farms in northen Sweden.
These two fish farms are a part of the huge Swedish fish farming industry that kills over 5 billion fish every year.
In a fish farm, tens of thousands of fish live cramped in net-cages without any chance to engage in their natural behaviors, like traveling long distances.
Fish are individuals who feel both pain and stress, and to breed, keep them in cages and kill them, however it is done, is unacceptable.

We wanted to give as many of these individuals as possible a chance to live the rest of their lives in freedom, instead of ending up on a dinner table.
We realise that some of the released fish will die in the wild because they were born in captivity and may have trouble learning to finding their own food, etc. But there is a big difference between dying in freedom than in captivity, and it is guaranteed that more fish are going to survive in the wild than if they were left in the fish farm.
We are also aware that the liberation of the fish may have a negative effect on the ocean ecosystem. We hold the farmers responsible for any such effects, because it is their oppressive actions that forced us to act.

At N�ske Lax AB more that 100,000 salmon were liberated by cutting all the net-cages that were holding the fish. A boat motor was also destroyed and some tires slashed. A spray can was emptied painting messages from the DBF.
The farm is not insured and after economic loses of millions of Swedish Kroner, the farmer doesn't think he will be able to open up the business again.

The second farm visited the same night was �lands fiskf�r�dlings, a big floating facility hundreds of meters out in the sea. After rowing out to the facility we cut as many net-cages as possible before dawn, releasing lots of fish.

Direct action saves lives!
Both by saving individual animals and also by economic sabotage we make it harder and less profitable to continue to torture and kill animals.

Men, det �r en principiellt vikltig skillnad p� att d� i frihet eller f�ngenskap. Och dessutom kommer garanterat fler �verleva i det fria �n inne p� fiskodlingen. Vi �r ocks� medvetna om att dessa utsl�pp av fiskar kan ha en negativ p�verkan p� biotoperna i havet. En s�dan konsekvens kommer vi helt h�lla fiskodlarna ansvariga f�r d� det �r dessa f�rtryckare som tvingat oss att agera.

Vid bes�ket hos N�ske Lax AB sl�pptes �ver 100 000 regnb�gslaxar ut genom att vi klippte upp alla odlingens n�tkassar. Dom fick �ven en b�tmotor f�rst�rd och d�cken p� ett b�tsl�p punkterat. En sprayburk t�mdes ocks� p� platts med budskap fr�n DBF.
Fiskodlingen �r of�rs�krad och eftersom aktionen skapat f�rluster p� miljonbelopp, kommer �garen troligen att l�gga ner verksamheten.

Den andra fiskodlingen som bes�ktes var �lands fiskf�r�dlings sverigefilial, som �r en stor flytande anl�ggning som ligger n�gra hundra meter ut i havet.
Efter att vi rott fram till anl�ggningen klipptes s� m�nga n�tkassar som m�jligt upp innan gryningen.

Dels faktiska individers liv och dels genom att ekonomiskt sabotage g�r det sv�rare och mindre l�nsamt att forts�tta d�da fiskar och andra djur p� l�pande band.

October 6, 2008 -- Region's Last Fur Farm Remains Closed

On september 26th an inspection was carried out on Erik Wahlins mink farm in Falun. It was almost one year ago that Djurens Befrielsefront (Swedish ALF) claimed a fur ban in that area after releasing 800 minks from the farm. The activists promised that the ban would be upheld by themselves after the faith in the politicians has been lost after they ignore the animal welfare law. Now DBF's own inspectors can say that the ban in upheld and that Dalarna is fur-free!

After three liberations of mink and an attempted arson attack on the farm all that is left on the farm is 2 empty sheds on what used to be Dalarnas last fur farm.

October 3, 2008 -- "Your Loss - Their Freedom"

As many as 6,000 mink were released from the Hulans fur farm outside Svenljunga in the early morning hours of Friday, October 3. Fencing was cut and surveillance cameras on site were disabled. Ten of the 23 sheds on the farm were emptied of animals. "Din f�rlust - deras frihet" ("Your loss - their freedom") was painted on a wall.

The Hulans fur farm was raided once before, in October 1997 when 5,000 mink were released from cages.

The Swedish ALF, Djurens Befrielsefront, has claimed responsibility for a fire at a slaughterhouse in L?udden on Friday night, July 4th. By the time the fire brigade arrived on the scene, nothing could be salvaged. The slaughterhouse was due to open on September 1 and slaughter moose, elk and other wildlife. The owner reported that insurance will not cover the entire loss and rebuilding may not be possible.

"We have for a while now known of a pheasant breeder outside Enkoping,
but we chose to act only after hearing about the other raid from
another hunt breeder. At the farm we realized that the farm was for
sale and only a few birds were still in the cages. To make sure that

"03/06/2008 Vasteras: On the night of the third of june we entered the biggest breeder of pheasants in Sweden, NB Fasaneri, outside Vasteras. We cut a big hole in the fence that surrounds the farm and snuck up to the fifty meter long outside cage that kept hundreds of birds jailed, all of the farms breeding pheasants. After starting by cuting a hole in the cage so we could enter we then cut all the netting on the top that was keeping the birds from escaping. When we were finished we could see one after another flying off to freedom beyond the cage and beyond the farm. Several hundred pheasants flew to freedom that night from the cage that used to entrap them in the wait for the brutal hunt and slaughter but this time not a single gun shot could be heared. - DBF"

"On May 19th activists from the Djurens Befrielsefront made a visit to ?ersdals Jordbruks battery hen farm in Bara. On the farm thousands of hens are kept in bad conditions. Feathers, feces and dirt covered everything inside the building including the cages and the animals kept in them. The first thing the activists saw was two chickens squeezed to death between the cages.

- They had fallen out and just left to die there trapped under the conveyor belt. The owners had presumably not been at the farm house in a long time since everything was run automatically, says one of the activists.

The animals were in poor condition and very stressed. They had during their lives in the tiny cages developed stereotypical behaviour and picked each other severely. Tonight 81 hens were liberated, one who turned out to be a rooster. Usually the rooster chickens are sorted out after they have been hatched and killed as they are of no value in the egg industry.

- These birds will never again see the insides of a cage, and will live out their lives in new homes where they will be treated with love and respect. To let the owners know that we had been there we sprayed 'House of animal abuse' on the outside of the building, easy to spot from the nearby road."

May 17, 2008 -- Dozens of Hunting Towers Sawed Into Firewood

Swedish media reported that 43 hunting towers have been sawed into firewood outside Falkenberg; police suspect animal rights activists are responsible. The towers have been destroyed, some with the use of a chain saw, over the last few months during at least thirteen different actions; the last action was carried out this week.

to be able to keep more birds trapped, but with this simple action we

December 28 - Malm? A & C Revisionsbyr?(accounting agency) was visited by militant animal right activists. The reason for the attack was that the company is doing the fur shop Havg?ds papers and after several warnings and actions they keep trying to make money on animal suffering. Havg?ds has already lost two accountants due to the DBF's actions and have been close to shutting down as a company always need an accountant to go through their finances.

A&C Revisionsbyr?and Mikael Cressy is keeping Havg?ds P?s going and they will be hit even harder if they dont sever all ties immediately. Tonight we glued all their locks and one big glass jar of tar and one with paint was thrown through their windows.

This was just a taste of what awaits you in the coming year.

All who do business with Havg?ds P?s and everyone who profits on animal suffering will be targets for our actions.
