November 30, 2015 - MORE THAN 1,000 PARTRIDGES LIBERATED

received anonymously (translation):

"On the night of September 25, three friends approached a small farm of partridges. It was not the first time, we had visited at different times over the past few weeks. We already knew how to get there, where to leave the car, which houses had neighbors, etc.
During the trip we split up the roles. One would watch from the only road in, two kilometers beyond the farm in case someone appeared, and the other two would be in charge of going to the farm.

The cages were large fenced-in areas with plastic mesh as a roof. It was easier than we thought it would be. We were scared by the noise of thousands of partridges trying to take flight inside the cages as we broke the nets, but the security we had in our friend keeping vigil helped us to stay calm.

Once the mesh was perforated, we pushed the slumbering partridges to escape. We thought it'd be complicated for them to find the opening, but as one flew to the outside, dozens immediately followed. As if they knew where freedom was.

After an hour, and with over a thousand partridges flying free, we had to leave.

We left smiling and tired. One thousand partridges had a great opportunity. They would have died in the many hunts, which will have to be canceled. Thanks to a good night's effort.

Thanks to everyone in the struggle."

October 5, 2015 - 20 RABBITS LIBERATED

received anonymously (translation):

"In recent years in Spain, specifically in Catalonia, rabbit farming has been severely affected by the crisis and many farms have closed over the past five years.
Several times we have found ourselves watching possible targets, but when we get closer to check out the security we discover they were abandoned.

Similarly we can also verify that the Animal Liberation actions have fallen in the Spanish state since the crisis began. This is probably due to the lack of resources of the people who take part in this struggle, as well as migration to other struggles by many people.
But on September 20, 2015 we left our temporary lethargy and that night we went to a rabbit farm located in the province of Barcelona and liberated 20 animals who were inside.

In this action there were 20, but we hope there are more actions to come, by which we can free many more and cause more damage to this murderous industry. We believe that this is a perfect time to strike blows and, once and for all, knock down an industry that has been just barely surviving for several years.
We are aware that this depends on our organizational capacity and our determination, but as has happened in other places where they have started effective campaigns, we can close the few remaining farms.

We dedicate this action to the anarchists who have been repressed by the operations 'Pandora', 'Piñata', as well as the prisoners accused of belonging to 'Commando Mateo Morral'.
We also send a warm hug to Evi Statiri, who at the time of this writing has ended her hunger strike because the Greek authorities have accepted her release from prison.

July 1, 2015 - SCULPTURE HONORING BULLFIGHTING PROMOTER COVERED IN PAINT

received anonymously:

"The 9th of June in San Sebastian (Basque Country, Spain) the sculpture that
honors Chopera, the family organizing the bullfights in the city, was sabotaged
by us, members of the Animal Liberation Front. More than 700 bulls have died in
the bullring next to it, and this summer more individuals will be assassinated
during this cruel tradition.
We will not permit the violation of animal rights in our land and we will fight
till we are all free.

March 14, 2015 - ANTI-MEAT STICKERING

anonymous report:

"'Biohazard! This product contains deadly poison. Eye for an eye! Go Vegan', '...this product contains deadly parasites. Tooth for a tooth!..' stickers with this text appeared on the labels of products in the supermarkets of the chains Carrefour, DIA, Caprabo, Mercadona and El Corte Ingles in Barcelona. Activists glue them on meat, fish and egg products.

The hoax campaign started by animal liberators last spring, continues this March. Stickers cause incredible panic among sellers and buyers. Police comes on call. For the moment it stays unclear if the criminal case is initiated."

February 4, 2015 - 1000 PARTRIDGES, QUAIL, PHEASANTS LIBERATED FROM GAME FARM

were destined to be bred for hunting in Navarre (a region in Spain).
They also did paints, sabotaged electrical system, vehicles, smashed
cages and water supply among others.
They also liberated hundreds of sheep who were kept in a nearby farm
that night.
Until last cage is empty."

January 30, 2015 - A NEW LIFE FOR 60 HENS

60 hens were rescued from an egg farm in Castile and Len in December 2014 (please check back for a translation of the claim of responsibility).

Spanish:
"CASTILLA Y LEN, 2014
60 GALLINAS RESCATADAS

As lo hicimos nosotros:
Aun as, haba cientos de gallinas amontonadas.

NOSOTROS NO VAMOS A PARAR"

December 31, 2014 - CHRISTMAS STICKER CAMPAIGN

In many Barcelona neighborhoods, hundreds of stickers with the message, "Animals don't enjoy Christmas. Millions of animals will die to feed your indifference," have been put onto animal transport trucks, inside supermarkets, on posters advertising animal products, etc.

November 28, 2014 - POLICE CAR WINDOWS BROKEN FOLLOWING VIOLENT REACTION TO PROTEST

anonymous report:

"The Spanish Animal Liberation Front, Frente Liberacin Animal (FLA), broke the glass of a police car in Medinaceli, regio Coria, Spain.
The Okupa movement was doing a direct action in Medinaceli against the torture in the event called 'el Toro Jubilo'.
The bullfighters use fire on the bull for this cruel event. After the event they kill this wonderful animal.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2JC8SlDE4k

The Police, Guardia Civil use a lot of violence against our activists. The ALF members, give this reaction to the violence.
'If you use violence against us, or against our friends, the animals than you have to pay the price!'
It was our opinion to burn the car, but there were too many people on the street, so too dangerous!
Next time our reaction will be stronger!
Direct action is the only one option against animal torture!
Frente Liberacin Animal"

November 12, 2014 - HUNDREDS OF PARTRIDGES FREED, SAFE FROM HUNTERS

anonymous report (click here for more photos):

"In the begining of october, a spanish ALF cell liberated around
one thousand partridges enslaved at a farm and
destinated for hunting on private lands. This farm is situated in south
Burgos province, in a village called Villafruela.
All the cages were opened, as were most exit doors, a bunch of fences
and nets (that cover the cages to prevent the birds from escaping), and some cages used to attract other partridges were destroyed.

October 20, 2014 - ANTI-BULLFIGHTING GRAFFITI

On October 18, graffiti against bullfighting appeared at the entrance of the Vistalegre bullring/congress center at the start of a two-day meeting of Podemos (left-wing Spanish political party). The 8,000 people attending will see the anti-bullfighting messages.

During the meeting one of the topics of debate is if Podemos will officially be an anti-bullfighting political party.

April 10, 2014 - KFC LOCKED SHUT IN BARCELONA

reported by the Shut 'Em Down campaign:

"KFC on La Rambla (main tourist street in Barcelona) was closed on the night of April 5:

'In our work we used an extrastrong bicycle lock, liberated from the construction hypermarket the same day. It securely united the automatic shutter with the doors' handles'.

It was probably the first action of the SED campaign outside the ex-USSR area. Previously the announced nights of actions engaged only Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia and Armenia.

During the first united 'Night of the Closed Doors', as the campaign is known among the Russian speaking audience, activists shut down more than 50 spots in 5 countries.

The tools usually include chains, bicycle locks and glue, but in many cases activists use their imagination like the crew that stuck toothpicks in all the door locks of the Omsk Circus building, preventing the staff from entering without breaking-in. Some of the attacks have already brought inspiring results: like the meat shop in Novosibirsk that didn't open for three days due to the unexpected shut-down.

March 22, 2014 - ZOO GRAFFITIED

anonymous report:

"21 March Zoological Park (Parque Zoologico) of Barcelona have been
attacked by the Flying Apes Clan (FAC) activists with graffiti spray.
Action was conducted in support of 269life's 5th International Event
(https://m.facebook.com/events/1462358687309718) and aimed at showing that
animal exploitation of any kind will never be tolerated by the
abolitionist movement worldwide.

The choice of Zoological Park is explained by the recent tragedy in
Copengagen Zoo, where giraffe called Marius was brutally killed and fed to
lions for the reasons of genetic selection. 21 March, on the International
Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination it was extremely
important to remind everyone that discrimination and exploitation of any
other human or animal race has nothing to do with the civilized society.
And that gaining of profit by using animals as entertainment tools will be
always punished anyhow. Even if a CCTV camera is pointed on the sacred
enterprise and another one looks from the inside!

Activists left for animal abusers graffities in Spanish 'We are all 269',
'Go Vegan!', 'No Zoos No Cry', 'Speciesism = Shit' etc. They also dirtied
the code/numbers door lock for the staff as nicely as they managed to.

Barcelona Zoo keeps more than about 2200 captives of more than 320 species."
