*TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN*
*This is an alert for every one, who
love animals and worried about their
rights and welfare. The Ministry of
Environment and Forest (Govt. of India)
introduced draft rules /
legislation's for:*
*1. **The Animal Welfare Act, 2011 replacing
toothless and
ineffective the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
As per
information sought under right to information act, 2005 by the
Media
Adviser to OIPA in India Abhishek Kadyan. The UN affiliated OIPA in
India
and PFA Haryana pleased to know that this matter in under process.

*Like wise ban on Peacock feathers trade was also proposed by the
Ministry,
where as elephant has been declared as a national heritage
animal of India
but there are no rules and regulations framed by the
Ministry to keep
intact the heritage status of the elephant.*
*As
per advice of the Ministry of Legal Affairs (Govt. of India), the above
said draft rules are dropped as stated above 2, 3 and 4. This is a shocking
news for all animal lovers, where as puppy mills owners are feel pride to
manage the Ministry of Legal Affairs but the UN affiliated OIPA in India
and PFA Haryana strongly opposing the decision.*
*Hence all
interested people, organizations are requested to be united to
fight
against the decision of the Ministry of Environment and Forest (Govt.
of
India) and make pressure on the Animal Welfare Board of India -- AWBI to
support our movement.*
