CLAIM OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR ATTACK DURING VIVISECTION SYMPOSIUM

anonymous claim of responsibility for November 14 attack at the University of Concepcin (translation):

"each individual should be in control of their own health; there's no excuse for externalizing the responsibility of knowing your own body. nothing justifies vivisection as a method of healing.
nothing justifies the self-assured and conceited superiority with which humans have used other animals, their bodies, their lives, even in the most hygienic, sophisticated, anesthetized way possible.
how contradictory it is to make animals suffer and kill them to achieve health. people believe that they are helping when they are only perpetuating human decline. scientists who day after day cause diseases in animals, many of those transgenic, to then later apply their remedies on humans, to improve them, make them ever more and more immortal, more perfect. to improve the human race. they are Nazis in white coats! torturers paid by the state and pharmaceutical companies.

we attacked the International Symposium on Biomedical Research Models since gathered there were prestigious national and international animal abusers. we did it with 2 explosive incendiary devices, one placed under a van belonging to the University of Concepcin, specifically to the research department and the other placed under the truck of Dr. Fidel Castro latin american pioneer in creating transgenic animals and an animal cloning expert. he is actually the first to clone a cow in Chile, but this will make it clear what he is dedicated to:
'... from there the biofactories are born, that's what I was committed to in Cuba, to generate animal factories to produce drugs for medical use and that's what we want to do here (...) if we modify these animals so that genetically their milk contains drugs introduced through genetic engineering, the cost would decrease and availability would increase...'
these, in addition to the creation of a new animal torture center (vivarium) led by Dr. Roxana Pincheira and her lackeys who will soon begin construction at the University of Concepcin, are the motivations of our actions.

those who profit from animal suffering and the artificialization of life need to know that we are close and we will not rest

on that morning the memory of Barry Horne protected us and his strength accompanied us.

freedom to all tortured and imprisoned animals

greetings filled with love and rage to the warriors nicola gai and alfredo cospito, to braulio duran gonzales, to henry zegarrundo and especially to marco camenich. distance separates us but the struggle unites us.

August 12, 2012 - WEEK OF AGITATION AGAINST VIVISECTION

Universidad Catlica de Chile

According to media reports, on August 8 a group of people entered a research facility at Catholic University in downtown Santiago and interrupted a course on laboratory animals. Windows were broken, and animal liberation slogans were left behind on the walls. None of the invaders were detained. (photo: La Nacin.cl)

The event followed a similar action on August 6 when a group of people broke into an animal lab at the University of Chile, also in Santiago.

On August 10, police closed roads surrounding Catholic University following a bomb threat and the discovery of a suspicious object.

August 11, 2012 - FREEDOM FOR TWO GUINEA PIGS

According to an anonymous report on Antibioterios, two guinea pigs were freed from a small cage at a pet shop. (Check back for a complete translation.) Click here for video from the action.

July 15, 2012 - DUCK RESCUED FROM LABORATORY IN SANTIAGO

translation of Animal Libre press release (click here for additional photos):

"Rescue of a duck from a center of experimentation

On Thursday night, June 21, activists from Animal Libre rescued a duck from a science lab in the Metropolitan Region, where they have carried out experiments on animals since the 1960s and where tests of various kinds are done, which in the words of the vivisectors themselves (we learned in our investigation), "As an ethical issue they can not be done to humans, due to their degree of cruelty." This led to the Animal Libre rescue team to extend this ethical consideration to all individuals, and to end the suffering of an animal sitting in that place.

The duck, who we named Andrs, after removing him from the wooden container in which he was kept, was immediately taken to a veterinarian who checked his health and found him physically in good condition. He was then transferred to a property where he will live free the rest of his days without physical or psychological suffering. It should be noted that he will be under veterinary observation for a few weeks to make sure that his health is optimal.

On behalf of Animal Libre we call on others not to forget the thousands of slaves who are tortured and suffer under the premise of human health or beauty, in experiments that can be easily carried out without the use of other sentient beings, thus avoiding infringement on the basic rights of animals.

We are not against scientific progress, we are for the advancement of ethics.

If you know other centers of experimentation, please contact us at info@AnimalLibre.org and help us to free animals from their condemnation."

February 5, 2012 - NINE CHICKENS BEGIN NEW LIVES

translation of EligeVeganismo news release (click here for more photos from the rescue):

In the early morning hours of January 29, 2012, eight EligeVeganismo [ChooseVeganism] activists entered a broiler chicken farm south of Santiago to rescue nine individuals and take them far away from the shed where they had been relegated and fattened for the last three months. In the coming days, each one of them would have been part of the 24,000 birds slaughtered per hour at this company.

At about five in the morning, activists entered the breeding shed and put three females and six males who were ready to be sent to slaughter in boxes and carried them to a home that they got to know and explore in the early hours of the morning. A home where they will live free and separate from any kind of human use.

The broiler chicken is a species traditionally bred for consumption. The genetic modification of these birds is used as an argument to justify the fact that they exist only to satisfy our eating habits, ignoring the fact that-- just like any animal-- in each one of them there exists the longing for freedom and the necessity of satisfying their own interests.

The boxes that brought them there were abandoned and they enjoyed the sun and exploring in the grass for the first time in their lives. For many this may seem meaningless, but have you ever thought about what those first moments of freedom mean to an oppressed animal? Recognizing that there is a world beyond the monotonous landscape of the breeding shed where they could barely move around?

The thousands of birds who share that space have become a number. We will keep the memory of their faces and their desperation, thus reaffirming our commitment to continue to carry out open rescues which radically change the lives of more and more individuals, like all types of actions that raise awareness about the urgent need for the human species to take the interests of animals into account.

This was the largest open rescue by EligeVeganismo to date and the first in South America of this species of bird: nine stories began to be written on Jan. 29; spread the word and share. We want to spread the message so that no one can evade the responsibility of recognizing the faces of the individuals behind the product.

What is an open rescue?: http://www.rescateabierto.org/que-son-los-rescates-abiertos"
